TIMES NEWS NETWORK

Bangalore: A senior police officer’s daughter who worked as a software engineer with HP committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house in Santrupti Nagar near Hulimavu on Sunday morning.
Hours earlier, Manasa, 25, had texted a few of her colleagues that it was her last day in life.
In a note, Manasa said she was taking the extreme step as she was fed up with life and she alone was responsible for her death.
Manasa was married to Mohan Kumar, a software engineer,
two years ago. Mohan is in Australia on work and, Manasa was staying with her father Gejjappa, a deputy superintendent of police.
On deputation with the revenue department, Gejjappa was member of the special task force set up as part of the AT Ramaswamy
legislature committee to identify encroachments of government land in and around Bangalore.
Two days ago, Gejjappa and his wife left for their hometown in Sira in Tumkur district. On Saturday night, Manasa’s brother too left for Sira and she was alone at home. On returning from Sira on Sunday morning, Gejjappa found Manasa hanging from the ceiling of her bedroom.
Manasa’s note said that though her husband and family had been good to her, she was not interested in life anymore. Manasa’s family was too shocked to react. They said they found no reason for her to take the extreme step.
Friends and relatives poured in at her residence to condole with her parents. “She was happy with her husband and there were no problems. We don’t know why she took this extreme step,” said BB Reddy, a family friend.
